“Berth” refers to sleeping capacity rather than bedroom count — a 6-berth caravan sleeps up to six people, usually across two or three bedrooms with a mix of double beds, bunks and sometimes a sofa bed in the living area.
Berth vs bedroom count
Two caravans both described as “6 berth” can have quite different layouts — some use a sofa bed to reach six, others have three proper bedrooms — so check the actual floor plan rather than relying on the berth number alone if layout matters to you.
Who a 6-berth suits
This size works well for a family with two or three children, or two couples sharing — large enough for genuine comfort without the higher price and site fees of a bigger four-bedroom model.
Buying checklist
As with any static caravan, check the age, condition, current site fees, and whether the sale includes the existing pitch or requires you to find a new one.
