Most UK holiday parks now welcome dogs in at least some of their accommodation, but “dog friendly” can mean very different things from one park to the next — it’s worth asking a few specific questions before you book rather than assuming.

Questions worth asking every time

How many dogs are allowed per booking, is there a weight or breed restriction, is there an extra charge, and are dogs allowed in all areas of the park (bars, restaurants, pools) or only the accommodation and outdoor spaces? Policies differ enough between parks that it’s worth confirming directly.

Dorset and the South Coast

Dorset in particular has a strong reputation for dog-friendly parks and beaches, many of which allow dogs year-round or with seasonal restrictions rather than a blanket summer ban — see our Dorset holidays guide for more.

Best dog-friendly parks nationally

Rather than one “best” list, the right park depends on what your dog needs — a nervous dog may do better somewhere quieter with private outdoor space, while a sociable dog might enjoy a livelier park with other dog owners around.
