A three-bedroom static caravan is the most common size for family use — big enough for a family of five or six without the extra cost and site fees of a four-bedroom model.

Typical layout

Most three-bedroom static caravans put the main bedroom at one end and two further bedrooms (often a twin and a smaller single or bunk room) at the other, with an open-plan living and kitchen area in between for better noise separation from the bedrooms.

Booking vs buying

If you’re not ready to buy, most parks offer three-bedroom caravans to book for a holiday first — a good way to properly test whether the size and layout suit your family before committing to a purchase.

What to check when buying

Confirm the caravan’s age, current site fees, and the park’s season length, and compare a three-bedroom layout against a similarly priced lodge if you haven’t already — see our static caravan vs lodge guide.
